Outdoor gear should withstand extreme conditions. For your safety.

All Moonlight headlamps are IP67 or IP68. IP stands for Ingress Protection and indicates how well a device is protected against dust and water ingression.

The first number after IP indicates dust protection on a scale from 1 to 6. This is tested by subjecting the headlamp to vacuum and ultra fine powder over a duration of ~8 hours. Only devices with zero dust ingression will pass a level 6 dust protection.

All Moonlight headlamps are IP67 or IP68. IP stands for Ingress Protection and indicates how well a device is protected against dust and water ingression.

The second number after IP indicates water protection on a scale from 1 to 9.

IP67 indicates protection from 30 minutes immersion in water depth of 1 meter. IP68 is tested under even more extreme conditions; continuous immersion (min. 1 hour) at 1,5 meters. IPx9 indicates protection from high-pressure jets (~100 bar) at high temperatures (80°C) - rarely applicable conditions for outdoor equipment.

The Bright As Day series is certified to IP67. With the Noctia system, we pushed it even further to IP68. With this level of dust and water protection, you can be sure your equipment is not sabotaged by weather conditions.

In Norway, we are no strangers to cold temperatures. We need to know that our headlamps can withstand temperatures as low as -20°C without being worried about equipment failing.

Although lithium-ion batteries are superior in capacity, they are no friends of the cold - we therefore encourage you to carry the external batteries on our Bright As Day series close to your body using the included extension cable when out in sub zero temperatures. For the Noctia system with its internal batteries, the heat generated by the LEDs will to some extent help in maintaining battery life in cold conditions.

We consider headlamps an important piece of safety equipment. You should therefore not be worried about having to navigate home in complete darkness. Our Noctia system is the perfect tag-along for any adventure. Its versatility and light weight makes packing it in the pocket to head outside easier than ever before. It is fully repairable in the case of an accident, with spare parts available in-house at our facilities.
